The 97th Agricultural and Commercial Show, held in Lusaka from 30 July to 4 August 2025, brought together stakeholders from across Zambia and beyond to showcase innovations, products, and services under the theme “Adapting to Climate Change.” BCP was proud to be part of this important event, using the platform to highlight the role of conservation, community engagement, and climate-smart solutions in building climate resilience.
BCP was invited to exhibit at two key locations:
The Lusaka Provincial Administration Pavilion
The Ministry of Green Economy and Environment (MGEE) Pavilion
Across these spaces, the BCP team engaged with a wide audience, including students, youth climate activists, lawmakers, technical experts, NGOs, and members of the general public. Our interactive stands created an opportunity to deepen public awareness about climate-smart agriculture, REDD+, and the community benefits of forest conservation.
Participation in the show enabled valuable face-to-face engagement with visitors and decision-makers. These interactions provided important insights into community needs around adaptation and resilience, and helped spark new conversations about partnerships, innovation, and scaling nature-based solutions.
BCP staff shared key tools and methodologies in Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA), linking them to our REDD+ projects and broader efforts to support rural livelihoods. Visitors learned how CSA is embedded within BCP’s projects to support food security, forest protection, and community development in the face of changing climate conditions.
A highlight of the week came when the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment received First Prize for Best Climate Action Enterprise. This recognition reflected the contributions of all 15 organizations that exhibited under their banner—including BCP. It was an important acknowledgment of the collective work being done to respond to climate change through innovation and collaboration.
BCP’s participation in the 2025 Agricultural and Commercial Show was a significant success. It allowed us not only to showcase our impact but also to strengthen relationships with government stakeholders, climate actors, and the broader public. As climate risks intensify, such platforms are critical for building understanding, trust, and momentum for meaningful action.
We remain committed to scaling solutions that protect nature, support people, and help Zambia adapt to a changing climate.
