In Eastern Province, where communities are already feeling the effects of a changing climate, moments of alignment like this matter.
BCP was honoured to attend the launch of a Climate Change Adaptation initiative, following an invitation from the Ngoni Royal Establishment. The event brought together a strong coalition of partners, from COMACO and the Forestry Department to the Office of the Mayor of Chipata, the District Commissioner, and the Eastern Province Permanent Secretary, who joined as the Guest of Honour.
Traditional leadership was at the centre, with His Majesty King Mpezeni, Chief Sandwe, and other Chiefs in attendance, a powerful reminder that lasting climate solutions must be rooted in local leadership and ownership.
We were honoured to have the opportunity to present our work to His Majesty King Mpezeni, and to share how our efforts in conservation and sustainable forest management aim to support broader climate resilience across the region.
Partnerships like these are what move things forward. When government, traditional leadership, and implementing partners come together with a shared purpose, the path to meaningful, lasting impact becomes far more achievable.
